If these are lost, the physiognomy of island which all speak about will also be lost. The picture of Amorgos is tied up with the old rural houses, the courtyards, the paved paths, the stone walls (xerolithies), the mills, the treadles (patitiria), the oilpresses (liotribia)… These stamp the graphic Cyclades island, waking up memories almost in each step. Roughly 3.000 monuments of rural heritage recorded the “Greek Company of Environment and Culture” in her recent research, with the help of the indefatigable people of Amorgos
